Homeowners can bring their household garbage, limbs, metal (white goods), and tires at NO CHARGE. There will, however, be a charge for all roofing material (shingles), asbestos, animal carcasses, farm animals, boats and campers.
Will the County pickup my limbs?
The County has a limb policy (See Forms and Documents on left menu). The county will pickup limbs from county residences. A work order must be placed prior to limbs being picked up. Please call 942-8662 for a limb request. If no one is available, leave your name, phone number and address. Allow approximately 7 to 10 business days.
Can I bring a mobile home to the landfill? If so, what does it cost?
Yes. Mobile homes are accepted Monday thru Friday ONLY from 7:00am to 2:30pm. Forms must be filled out prior to bring mobile home and landfill must be notified (1) day in advance. (See Mobile Home Disposal Policy and Registration forms in Forms and Documents on left menu).
Who can open a landfill account and how?
Anyone that has a valid driver's license, mailing address, and does not have an outstanding landfill account balance. (See Froms and Documents on left menu for Landfill Accout Application and Landfill Charge Account Policy).
Do homeowners have to pay to use the landfill?

What should I know prior to bringing asbestos to the landfill?
Asbestos is accepted on Tuesday with a rain makeup day of Thursday. The landfill must be notified (1) day prior to bringing asbestos. (See Forms and Documents on left menu) - Waste Shipment Record - Residential Asbestos Abatement Project)
Other days may be acceptable if needed (call 864-942-8711 to schedule).
Does the landfill accept paint waste?
The landfill will accept paint waste once it has been solidified or became hardened. This can be done by mixing the paint with kitty litter or sand. The landfill doesn't accept liquid waste.
What material is accepted at the Landfill located on Siloam Church Road?
Household garbage, sludge's, asbestos (friable or nonfriable), metal (white goods), yard debris (land clearing), construction and demolition debris, roofing shingles, and tires.
Is the landfill closed during holidays?
The landfill is closed for the following holidays: July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
What is the operating schedule of the Landfill?
The landfill is open Monday thru Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday 8:00 A.M. to 12 Noon. Sunday - Closed.
Can I dump all of my trash into one container?
No. South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) requires that certain items must be separated. See Attendant.
Can I leave large items sitting on the ground?
No, all waste must be placed inside the container.

Do the Convenience Centers accept out-of-county waste?
No. Greenwood County does not accept any out-of-county waste.
How many loads per day can I bring to the Convenience Center?
There is no load limit.
Is there a charge for bringing household waste, appliances, tires, and limbs to the landfill?
There is No Charge to bring household waste, appliances, tires, and limbs. However, roofing shingles, asbestos, animal carcasses, farm animals, boats and campers will be charged.
Do the Convenience Centers accept waste from businesses?
NO. All business waste must be taken to the landfill located on Siloam Church Rd.
Only Recyclables are accepted from businesses.
What items are NOT accepted at the Convenience Centers?
Tires, Appliances that contain Freon, roofing shingles, asbestos, and hazardous waste. All unaccepted material must be taken to the Landfill (located at 1115 Siloam Church Rd.)
What items are accepted at the Convenience Centers?
Household garbage, scrap metal (appliances that do not contain Freon), furniture, mattress, yard waste, large batteries, used oil, oil filters/bottles, and recycling material. E-waste (computers, monitors, printers, etc.) can be taken to ALL Convenience Centers. The main center located on Siloam Church Rd. accepts Antifreeze, used Cooking Oil (up to 50 gals. per visit). Bucklevel and Deadfall also accept Cooking Oil. All convenience centers accept used motor oil, up to 5 gallons per visit.
Please note: Hwy 10 and Island Ford Rd Convenience Centers now accept Cooking Oil.
Are the Convenience Centers staffed with an attendant?
Yes. All nine Centers have an attendant onsite to assist you with any questions you may have.
The attendant is unable to unload items for disposal.
What are the days and hours of the Convenience Centers?
OPEN: Monday, Thursday and Friday from 7:00a.m. to 6:00pm; Saturday from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m and Sunday from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.
Mays Cross Rd. (Scotts Ferry Rd.) and Cedar Spring Rd. are OPEN Monday and Friday from 7:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., Saturday from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. and Sunday from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.These two Centers are CLOSED Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Siloam Church Road is open 7 days a week, Monday through Friday, 7:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., Saturday from 8:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. and Sunday from 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.
